"Rhydin Etiquette 101"

Part 1: To Provoke or Not to Provoke

Lesson 1: Make a friend when you don't know anyone

In the land of Rhydin, you will meet all kinds of people... travelers, from the nomads to time hoppers from the future, warriors and mystics, workers and builders, maidens and pretty boys, children and creatures from the common to the extraordinary. Rhydin is a melting pot of ideals and dreams of countless beings. When making a friend, you have to be careful of what you do and say. The best places to meet people is in the multitudes of inns and taverns. These places can also be where you meet your doom. When you come into an inn or tavern, take your time to look around and go to the bar. Getting a drink is an excellent start, because in some of this establishments, there is a bartender or host/hostess that can be your first and best friend. Say hello and introduce yourself and start a light conversation. If you are a flirting type, be warned... You can get yourself killed VERY fast. The women in Rhydin are a beautiful breed and the men here have a higher level of competition in their blood. So be careful not to assume too much. The reading of one's profile/life scroll is the best way to learn if you can or can't get along with someone. For example: If a man wants to get to know a beautiful woman, but sees that she's affectionate to another man, it's best to move on. The most important lesson in this is to be yourself, but be watchful of your actions.

Lesson 2: Bad Boy/Girl? Do you want reputation or death?

To all you bad boys/girls that want a place in Rhydin... If you want you be among the best, you have to avoid becoming someone's "@\$$wipe". I'm sorry that I sound vulgar, but it's the truth. I have seen too many people play the game of "I'm the baddest bastard in the land!". This game will only end with you become the "@\$$wipe". Why I say that? Because of two things... One, there are "Bad Men/Women" in Rhydin that loves bad children (This is what they see in you, bad boy/girl). Two, they ALWAYS have friends. These "Bad Men/Women" will take you on without fear and their friends with back them up. You will never face one person, you will face a mob. And a mob with "mop" the floor with you, bad boy/girl. So, if you want reputation, make a friend with one of this "Bad Men/Women" and join a guild, preferring a dark one. If you want to die, then go and provoke them. Your death will be guaranteed.

Lesson 3: Rookie Dark Hunters/Light Hunters

To all you rookie hunters... if you hate the dark/light, you BETTER remember the lesson I taught the bad boy/girl. It works the same way.

Lesson 4: IMs are personal

IMs, or Instant Messages, are personal devices used to talk to people without the third party involved. It's your responibility to use them right. If you attack someone via IM, three things, other than being struck back, can happen. One, you will mobbed with the IMs of the victim's friends/allies. Two, you can be ignored. This is the most common of the three, since IMs can be destroyed and nullified with ease. Three, you can be strucked with a TOS. TOSs is the most severe, since you can be killed by the Gods of AOL, the Internet Spirits and the Mundane Law Enforcers. The TOS is least used because it requires your mun, the man/woman that made you exist, to get too personal in your affairs and violate the law that they must follow as Muns. The TOS also works in the inns and taverns of Rhydin. So, as warning, watch your actions carefully.

Lesson 5: You and your Mun

This is the most important of the lessons, students, to understand the relationship of yourself and your Muns. Like in Lesson 4, I said that a Mun is the man/woman that made you exist. Your actions and conduct in Rhydin and any other land you go to is the work of your Muns. The Muns are your spiritual essence. Your existence is justified by their vision of their other selves, which you are. So, if you do the wrong things in Rhydin, remember that it was from how your Mun feels inside themselves. With this knowledge, it's very important for the Mun to govern his/her emotions and avoid from going from IC (In Character) to OOC (Out Of Character). Countless problems come from this switch in priorities. Your Mun also must know common sense. You can't go into an inn and beat up on people without retribution. When this retribution comes, you can't run away and hope they will forget or even ignore their reactions like they don't even matter. They will either hunt you down or don't accept your existence. For example: If an amazon attacks a warlord's wife and manes her, he will challenge the amazon in a death match (DM) to seek revenge. The amazon can run away, but in turn, cause the warlord to put a bounty on her head. The amazon can also accept the challenge, but don't honor the fight with fair play. The warlord can then say that the amazon didn't exist and will share this with his friends.

What I just painted for you is called, Bad Role Playing. In that, it's the Mun's fault for not being fair and lack common sense. It's very important to understand that in role playing, you CAN'T do anything you want without consequences.
